How to Order Your Aquarium Background Correctly.
I hope your loving our fish tank backgrounds, as much as we love making them for you. There is one important thing that you need to know before you order your background and that is, “You Need To Measure Your Back Glass” for your background to fit perfectly.
If you check out the image below, you will see the easiest way to do this is to grab a tape measure of a ruler, and measure across first. That is the width. We have the sizes listed in cm.

1. Measure across the bottom of your tank, from left to right. Please write down the number so you don’t get it mixed up or forget, as I would do if I didn’t write it down.
2. Measure from the bottom up to get your height.
Again write down the height in cm’s.
3. Go to the page in our shop, where you have chosen the background you would like to purchase.
Look for the size you need in the drop down menu.
What if you don’t have my exact size?
If we don’t have your exact tank size you have a couple of options.
a. You can order the next size larger than you need and cut the background down with a stanley knife, once the background is on the tank. There will only be a small amount over on one side and the bottom, should you place the background, starting in the top left side and smoothing it down.
b. You can order your background in the next size smaller than your actual size. Apply it the same way. This time you will have a small gap on one side and a small gap on the bottom. The bottom will never be noticeable because of substrate covering it. The side, usually not a problem either as the back corner is generally a very good place for a plant. The plant will cover the gap.
c. Your final option is to order a custom sized background. You can do this by the quote form. You will see the link for quotes at the bottom of the product page. This option really isn’t necessary in most cases.
If I had to decide which way to go, I would get the next size smaller, so I don’t need to cut anything and I have plants in the back corners of all my aquariums so that solves the problem quickly and easily. You really will never notice it.
How Long Will It Take To Get My Background
Backgrounds are ordered and the order comes to myself. I process it and send it on to my print partner in your country, where you reside. Generally it takes between 2 to 4 days for the printer to complete the job and get you background in the post. It then depends on your local mail service how long from there.
Tracking
Once my print partner, in your country has finished the job. He emails me a photograph of the finished product and the tracking number for your package. I then go into the computer and upload the tracking number for you in an email. You can then follow the tracking link and watch your background as it gets posted from within your home country. Generally 2 to 4 working days.

Other things to consider before choosing your background image
The only suggestion I can give you prior to ordering your background is, to think about these things.
1. What colour are you fish mostly. This is because obviously a black fish, will not show up very well against a black background. Same with orange against orange etc. For a black fish, a light background will have him show up very easily. Little bits of black on the image won’t matter especially if you use LCD Lights on the back of the fish tank background.
2. Stick on LCD Lights, bring out the best colours in your aquarium background. They are very inexpensive. Only $30 for a 3metre roll in my store. You can also buy small strips of a few LCDs for around the same price, and these ones you can place strategically on your background and they look absolutely fantastic. So please consider this strategy when buying your background for your fish tank.
For any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. On my Contact page. Just click the link, which is the words in colour.
Thanks so much for your support and please make sure to send us pictures or videos when you have your background on your tank.
