FishTanks.store Say Goodbye to Boring

We understand, at times keeping your aquarium the way you want it to look and the way it actually looks, can be two very different things. The tank is cycled, you tested the water last Sunday, but there is that bit of algae to clean off the glass and the pebbles really do need a vacuum.

The next Sunday comes around, so quickly that it still only feels like it could be Tuesday. Once again, test the water, water is good, but oh that glass is really starting to look very grimy. There is brown algae growing on ornaments, back glass and plants need maintenance.

Week 3 And look at those 2 plants floating on the top of the water, another plant with no leaves only a stem, just holding on by one root. Quickly test the water, nitrates a little high, and with condensation, we definitely need a top up and 25% water change.

But your tired. Was a big week. You still have lot’s to do before you get dinner organised and kids ready for bed, so fishies gonna have to go one more week.

Don’t feel bad. We’ve all done this, and often times very much worse. You feel bad for your fish but really, you should be feeling bad for you. The fish are fine. Your the one who can’t enjoy your tank, every time you look at it and see it in a mess.

Yes we at fishtanks.store can help and help we are more that happy to do. First up, don’t be hard on yourself. Fish do take work to take care of and skipping a bit of maintenance isn’t the end of the world.

I can tell you though. With these couple of tips and one of our backgrounds, maintenance can be reduced by at least 33%.

• Stops light coming through the back glass, so algae growth is reduced. Ornaments close to the back glass will have less algae growth on them also.
• Use a magnetic glass cleaner
• Check your glass each time, before feeding and as soon as glass looks grimy give it a quick once over with the magnetic cleaner. You will be amazed at how much better your tank will look.
• Grab your fish bucket next trip past where it’s stored, add de-chlorinator, next trip back past the tank, top up your aquarium water.
• Now your tank really will be fine for another week, maybe even two, just be sure to keep up with consistent water changes as often as possible and to test your water at least once a month.

Fish Tanks Store Is Open

Before we leave you, i’ll just quickly tell you about our monthly newsletter. When you subscribe, you get a coupon for $10 off your first background. You can place an order today!

We send the order to our print partner, in your country. Our printer will have your background cling, printed and cut to one of our standard 33, sizes. (We can do custom sizing on request). If your exact size isn’t on our list, it’s best to choose the next one just smaller than yours. That means you won’t need to cut it.

Delivery to Your Door With Tracking

We use, Australia Post, DHL and FedEx for all our shipping, so generally you will receive your background in under 14 days. As soon as our print partner puts it in the post, they send us your tracking number. We then email the tracking number onto you. At this stage your background is only a couple days away, because again, it is printed by our print partner in your country.
